Deep surface water during heavy rain

Reported via desktop in the Flooding/drainage (NH) category anonymously at 13:31, Friday 12 January 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5434241.

On the M20 London bound just before the exit slip road for junction 9 at Ashford, surface water is gathering after heavy rain and forming big puddles. My last experience of this was last week (first week of January 2024). This road is very busy with HGV traffic and when, at the last minute, I saw the water I slowed (not braked) but the HGV very close behind me did not do so - or did not do so quick enough - and had to swerve around me into the next lane. It is, as they say, an accident waiting to happen. I have encountered the problem twice myself over the past month.
