Updates

  • Thank you for making your report. We have asked our inspection team to attend this location and assess the issue.

If any work is needed, they will arrange for this to happen. Should no immediate work be required we will continue to monitor this during our regular inspections.

Although we always aim to complete repairs as quickly as possible, timescales do vary as we try to minimise disruption to customers by combining activities into single closures and always ensuring the safety of our people.

    Kind regards National Highways

  • The timings (priority) of these lights needs to be updated now that the new A585 Fleetwood road by pass is open.

Currently the lights have a large time bias on traffic travelling from Mains lane A585 to Garstang New Road and vice versa which was to deal with the volume of traffic on the A585 prior to the opening of the new by-pass.

As a result of the part opening of the new A585 Fleetwood Road by-pass a larger volume of traffic through rush hour is now travelling through Singleton onto Lodge Lane (B5260) and up to the A585 junction lights.

The lights at the top of Lodge Lane (B5260) A585 junction have a reduced time at green allowing only 8-10 cars through this section of the lights at one time, at rush hour large ques are now forming at this side of the junction, all most tailing back into Singleton leading to excessive wait times at this side of the junction.

As Garstang New Road is now closed there is very little traffic travelling on the A585 section at Mains Lane to Lodge Lane and Garstang Road East, so to have these lights on a longer time period at green is now inappropriate.

The lights at the top of the B5260 Lodge lane - A585 junction need re-configuring so that a green light signal is shown for a longer period of time, to reduce the build up of traffic on the B5260 Lodge Lane.
