Steps to footpath closure

Reported via mobile in the Pavement/footpath issue (NH) category anonymously at 14:33, Tuesday 2 January 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5379162.

The steps up to the footpath have been closed for some time. The alternative path is not fit for purpose as it goes up an incline and very muddy, I myself and countless others have slipped down, this will at some point cause an injury. Twice last year I’ve taken upon to cut back the vegetation as it was overgrown.

Also the owners of Palady Sping have cut down trees on the boundary of their property and the footpath.

  • Thank you for making your report. We have asked our inspection team to attend this location and assess the issue.

If any work is needed, they will arrange for this to happen. Should no immediate work be required we will continue to monitor this during our regular inspections.

Regarding the owners of Palady Sping cutting down trees on the boundary of their property and the footpath,as per the current vegetation policy, the responsibility for tree maintenance lies with the landowner. Unless there is an imminent safety concern, we don't typically engage in the routine trimming of trees.

    Kind regards National Highways
