Awful and dangerous surface - A14

Reported via desktop in the Road surface (NH) category anonymously at 16:59, Thu 14 December 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5321384.

A14 in both directions between jct 35 'Quy Roundabout' and jct 36 where the A11 from the south joins the A14 are really bad. There are sharp ridges in the tarmac where the joints were repaired badly last summer and really dangerous potholes. Someone needs to go and drive this section and see how bad it is. The ridges in the tarmac are like sharp speedbumps and the potholes are too deep for Dual Carriageway speeds.

Updates

  • Thank you for making your report regarding the road surface condition I have asked our inspector to investigate further.

    Please note:

A major project is in place to resurface junctions 35 to 37 (both sides) in February 2024.

Although we always aim to complete repairs as quickly as possible, timescales do vary as we try to minimise disruption to customers by combining activities into single closures and always ensuring the safety of our people.

    Kind regards National Highways
