Broken underground drain

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5319226.

Broken underground drain causing sewage to overflow into the carriageway of A14, continuing to pollute surface water drainage. Public footpath is so overgrown that affected area cannot be accessed safely. Been reported multiple times and nobody is taking action for this serious issue.

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways. Our local inspector has visited the site and has no safety reservations regarding the discharge on to the A14. He will however continue to monitor this issue during his safety inspections.

    The local water authority is responsible for maintenance issues (sewage) of this nature on this road.

    The local council however are responsible for the footpath at this location.
