Hedges overgrown and encroaching onto road. Previously reported and no action taken.

Reported via desktop in the Overgrown or obscuring view (NH) category anonymously at 09:39, Tue 12 December 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5309874.

Previously reported - hedging overgrown on both sides, not just adjacent to A46. Nearside impacts single roadway into Little Beckford. Not cut for several years. Reported that contractors Colas would resolve within 4 weeks, advised on 29th September 2023. Please drive into Little Beckford and visually check and an automated check / drive past along the A46 will not show up the issue. Thanks

  • Thank you for making your report. We have arranged for work to be completed on 10 and 11 January 2024.

Although we always aim to complete repairs as quickly as possible, timescales do vary as we try to minimise disruption to customers by combining activities into single closures and always ensuring the safety of our people.

    Kind regards National Highways

  • Update 16/01/24 - work still not carried out. Please complete soon and before bird nesting season, as we do not want to wait another year for it to be cut. Thank you.

  • Beckford Parish Council paid for the hedge to be flailed in order to remove overgrown hedging in February 2024.

Can you please carry out hedge cutting this year. The full length of Cheltenham Road, Little Beckford needs to be cut every year. Highways seem to only inspect the A46 side of the hedging and do not inspect the other side. Please check both sides. Thank you
