Very bad road surface and worn lane markings

Reported via desktop in the Road surface (NH) category anonymously at 22:07, Wed 22 November 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5243535.

On eastbound and westbound of M62 between junctions 25 and 28. There are some sections of road which have numerous potholes on and needs a complete resurfacing work done to bring it up to motorway standard. When you’re travelling at 70mph the current bad road surface and worn lane markings in some sections of this stretch needs to be addressed given that it’s supposed to be a motorway grade road.

Updates

  • Thank you for your report of 22 November 2023 about potholes between junction 25 and 28 of the M62. We appreciate the time you’ve taken to contact us about this.

After investigating your report, we can advise that we’re currently resurfacing the carriageway between junction 26 and 27. You might’ve seen closures overnight to facilitate this work which has since been completed on the eastbound carriageway. However, this scheme doesn’t cover the entire section you’ve identified. We’ve therefore completed temporary patching works to make the area safe. We’ll continue to monitor this location on our daily patrols and regular inspections. If further work is needed, we’ll schedule this in.

Thank you again for contacting us. If there is anything we can help you with, please email or telephone our Contact Centre. They’re available 24 hours a day by phone: 0300 123 5000 or by email info@nationalhighways.co.uk. Alternatively, please visit the National Highways website at nationalhighways.co.uk.
