Traffic lights still not right

Reported via mobile in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 23:11, Mon 20 November 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5235127.

At 6:50am today my journey to work was delayed by 15 minutes as these lights are not staying green for long enough. I counted 10 seconds on green and 30 seconds on red. Usually they allow a much longer time on green to allow smooth flow from the A2 onto the M2 London bound. Not working properly for 2-3 weeks now please fix.

By all accounts at some times of the day they are working correctly but other times eg 7am, 5pm they are faulty.

It would be better to turn them off and let the traffic flow naturally.

  • Thank you for your report.

We appreciate you taking the time to contact us. We’re aware there is a traffic light sequencing fault at Brenley corner and apologise for any disruption this may have caused you. We have attended the site and reset the lights; however, this hasn’t rectified the issue. At present, further investigations are ongoing to establish the cause of the fault. Although we don’t currently have a time frame on when this will be fixed, we hope this will be resolved as soon as possible. Whilst we always aim to complete repairs as quickly as possible, timescales can vary depending on the complexity of work that is identified to rectify the issue.

    Kind regards
