Large puddle

Drove along M62 yesterday, heading towards Manchester from M1, drove through a large puddle and felt the car noticeably decelerating while throwing up large amounts of spray on both sides.

  • Thank you for your report of 20 November 2023 about the flooding you’ve experienced along the westbound carriageway of the M62 heading towards Manchester. We appreciate the time you’ve taken to contact us about this.

    After investigating your enquiry, we can advise that works are scheduled to eliminate this problem as soon as possible. We’ll be sweeping the hard shoulder and clearing the gullies of any debris which should reduce the amount of flooding in the area. This work is due to take place on 8 December 2023 and we’re hopeful this improves the experience of motorists using this section of our network.
