Green phase broken

Reported via mobile in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 16:27, Thursday 16 November 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5220637.

On the A2 northbound, the green phase of the traffic lights is so short only 3-4 cars can pass. this is causing heavy traffic to build up along the A2 tailing back towards ESSO garage in some cases.

  • Set of lights on the north bound from Canterbury, still not working green phase is for only 6 seconds, then changes back to red, next green phase is longer but this is causing a massive queue from 6am until late in the evening

  • Thank you for your report.

We’re aware there is a traffic light sequencing fault at Brenley corner and apologise for any disruption this may have caused you. We have attended the site and reset the lights; however, this hasn’t rectified the issue. At present, further investigations are ongoing to establish the cause of the fault. Although we don’t currently have a time frame on when this will be fixed, we hope this will be resolved as soon as possible.

    Kind Regards

    National Highways
