Reported via desktop in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 10:38, Thu 16 November 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5218721.

Traffic lights not working at roundabout causing dangerous queues backing up onto the motorway. This has been going on for nearly 2 weeks now. How about emergency repairs? his really should have been fixed by now. This needs addressing urgently as is very very dangerous during rush hours

  • Thank you for making your report. We appreciate your frustration and understand your safety concerns whilst we worked to repair and replace the traffic lights.

Whilst, the lights were repaired following a road traffic incident in October, unfortunately at the beginning of November they were damaged again in a further road traffic incident.

New lights had to be manufactures and as the roundabout belongs to West Sussex County Council, we had to apply to them for road space approval to allow us to attend under suitable traffic management to replace the lights. I’m pleased to advise that their approval was provided, and we carried out repairs and replacement of the lights overnight on 16 November.

    Kind regards
