Flooding/blocked drain

Reported via mobile in the Flooding/drainage (NH) category anonymously at 19:16, Thu 9 November 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5194402.

There is an area of road on the A35, near the railings on the school side (Winterbourne Valley First School, DT2 9LW) which regularly floods. This may be due to the drains not being cleared or possibly the maintenance of the road itself, it would require investigation to ascertain the exact cause. The result is that motorists driving through the flood water often drench children on their way to and from school. This is particularly unpleasant for children in the morning as it results in them spending their school day in damp clothing and is not conducive to productive learning or their enjoyment of the school day.
