Can't see road markings

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5176431.

The motorway floods when it rains and the resulting reflective glare from the sun means it is hard to see the white lines. Motorists find themselves inadvertently following the original lines (now black). This is an accident waiting to happen. It has been present since the motorway was made into a SMART one and the issue has still not been addressed, despite it being reported multiple times.

  • I’d like to thank you for bringing this issue to our attention and I apologise confusion these road markings are causing. We really appreciate the information and feedback we receive, and value the perspective you bring as someone who uses our network. I’m pleased to report that we do have plans to address this issue in the coming year. An overlay scheme will be replacing the existing concrete with tarmac to address the driving experience and the difficulty with visibility due to the glare from the sun.
