Confusing lines

Reported via mobile in the Faded / Hard to see (NH) category anonymously at 10:52, Sun 5 November 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5175654.

Road surface is yellow not black tarmac. When motorway was converted to a smart motorway this stretch of road wasn't resurfaced? Now there are multiple conflicting lane markings and in wet or sunny weather, the new white lines are very difficult to see against the yellow road surface, resulting in cars drifting between lanes which is extremely dangerous.

Updates

  • Faded white lines, if sunny you end up following the fixed tar lines, which arnt the lane lines, needs sorting as people are drifting from lane to lane. I drive an hgv, so have better visibility and constantly see this happening in front of me Needs improvement
