Abandoned equipment

Reported via mobile in the Abandoned Materials (NH) category anonymously at 23:44, Sat 4 November 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5175092.

There is abandoned road work equipment, empty A frames, sand bags etc left along this route since the A14 Huntingdon stretch opened some 5 years ago. Despite numerous reports you appear happy to leave this equipment dumped along the verges instead of collecting it and reusing. You appear set on wasting tax payer's money and showcasing littering and flytipping. This dumped equipment can be seen along every major road/junction in the country and you continue to allow your workers to get away with this disgraceful behaviour. It is so bad that you now have an option to report abandoned materials on your site, and the local media have also started to report this issue. This is an issue that has been going on for many years and is out of control. The majority of your works are either managed by you or a handful of TM companies that you employ. These are Chevron, Ringway & Martins. These are the three main culprits and you could easily (if you cared) clamp down on this nationwide issue.
