Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5138698.
Between Jct5 and Jct 7 the road isn’t with the usual asphalt but I believe concrete (yellowish colour) and the white road marking is very hard to see especially in the mornings when the sun is rising. From the roadworks done between 2018 and 2022 for upgrading to smart motorway, there are still marks left from the temporary road marking that are reflecting the sun and one can be easily confused where to drive. I witness constantly how drivers struggle to keep in the correct lane due to that issue, I find myself having struggles as well.

Dear Ivayla Zaeva,
National Highways Response - 22831511
Thank you for emailing our Customer Contact Centre on 26 October about the worn road markings on the M27 between Junctions 5 and 7.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We appreciate road users raising issues such as these and providing us with feedback.
We can confirm, this has been recognised as an area that needs resurfacing and a scheme is in place to rectify this. These works haven’t started yet, as we’re in the final stages of planning and designing the repairs needed.
We’re scheduled to start the preparatory works in December 2023, with visible works beginning on the affected stretch of the road at the start of 2024. I hope this information is helpful and thank you again for taking the time to contact us. If you require any further information, please contact us via National Highways Customer Contact Centre. They're available 24 hours a day by phone: 0300 123 5000 or by email: info@nationalhighways.co.uk or visit the National Highways website at www.nationalhighways.co.uk
