Poor road marking leading to near miss

Reported via mobile in the Faded / Hard to see (NH) category anonymously at 19:21, Tue 24 October 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5133795.

The road markings for traffic following the road from the Mall to join the M5 north are almost non-existent and have been like this for months. Although this has been reported before, a very near miss yesterday (23 Oct) has led me to issue a new report requesting urgent attention. The incident involved an articulated lorry and a car. Neither the lorry or the car were following the road markings as they could not be seen. Please could this matter be addressed before the poor weather conditions of the winter make things even worse.
