Lack of safe footpath

Reported via desktop in the Pavement/footpath/cycleway/bridleway issue (NH) category anonymously at 10:12, Tue 24 October 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5131092.

The only viable means of walking from trematon to saltash (e.g. to take children to primary school) and there is no footpath, only a verge on the edge of a very fast dangerous road. a paved footpath, behind a barrier between the b3271 junction with the A38 and the trematon exit would be hugely beneficial in encouraging safe green local transport and reducing the numbers of cars on the road. there is plenty of room on the verge to allow for the creation of a footpath.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways concerning the provision of a footpath.

We're currently carrying out a safety study of this section of the A38.

Also the developers at the Broadmoor Farm Improvement have also submitted plans which may address the need for a footpath to Cornwall Council as part of the planning process.

The following link could also be of help. Unsuitable Walking Routes - https://www.cornwall.gov.uk/ schools-and-education/ schools-and-colleges/ school-and-post-16-travel/ unsuitable-walking-routes/ .
