Flooding of carriageway

Reported via mobile in the Flooding/drainage (NH) category anonymously at 09:35, Fri 20 October 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5116668.

It appears that an underground pipe (drain?) buried in the embankment has failed resulting in a large amount of water flowing down the embankment on to the carriageway. The drains on the A40 appear to be operating correctly but are not able to clear the excess flow. Observed for the first time today in prolonged rain.
