Defective surface to cycle path

Reported via mobile in the Pavement/footpath/cycleway/bridleway issue (NH) category anonymously at 14:56, Thu 19 October 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5114307.

Along much of the length of the new cycle path from Polegate to Firle, the tarmac surface is cracked parallel to the kerbs. Looks like the base has not been adequately compacted before laying tarmac. Assume this is not to specification and contractor will be instructed to remedy. This problem has been evident since shortly after completion.

We are indeed aware of the condition of the shared path, though appreciate you raising this issue. We’re currently assessing the best way forward to repair it in certain places, however we’re not yet in the position to confirm when this will be.
