Reoccurring flooding!

Reported via mobile in the Flooding/drainage (NH) category by DAVID MATTHEWS at 19:23, Wed 18 October 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5111501.

Today (18/10/23) the flooding outside our house and neighbouring properties has made it impossible to our front door! Whenever a vehicle drives by the pavement gets soaked including whoever maybe on it! And further more, the whole front of the house on the ground floor gets hit by a HUGE wave of water! And i am NOT exaggerating when i say this! Something NEEDS to be done about this urgently as is is not doing our property any good and should anything happen, i would contacting you for compensation! This problem has gone on for a long time now and I’m talking YEARS not days, weeks or months! And i am getting extremely fed up as my bins are out the front and cannot get to them without getting soaked! The road our side AND on the opposite side on the pedestrian crossing gets flooded VERY badly and is very dangerous! I have taken a small video of it although does not show bad it really can get!!! Please, can this be addressed soon?! Thank you. Mr D Matthews

Updates

  • Just to update! The flooding which occurred on the 19th (yesterday) i have now had to dismantle the brick pillar at the front of my house as the tidal wave of water that was continuously bombarding it completely disintegrated the mortar between the bricks and was in danger of falling on someone! I have taken video evidence of this and currently the bricks and capstone are on the floor in front of our property. This will need to be repaired and i would like to know who will be footing the bill?????
