Standing water on carriageways east and westbound

Reported via desktop in the Flooding/drainage (NH) category anonymously at 17:25, Wed 18 October 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5111200.

Both east and westbound carriageways of the A30 have shallow standing/flowing water during any period after rain. Last winter this became black ice after a cold night and led to at least one crash on the eastbound carriageway with a car hitting the barrier on the inside lane of the road. Up to that time it felt like 'one of those things' as it meant there was significant spray from cars but not much more. Having seen the danger that water flowing across a major road can lead to in freezing conditions, it's something that National Highways need to deal with.
