To Whom It May Concern
Thank you for raising your concerns regarding Chiverton interchange.
We appreciate that the new Chiverton Interchange has been an issue recently, therefore we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience our works may have had on your travel times. Note that we are doing all we can to make improvements at this area whilst the A30 traffic is temporarily using the roundabout to get from East to West.
Our main contractor, Costain, are currently trialling the interchange without traffic lights as part of our ongoing assessment to monitor the traffic flows. We will be turning the traffic lights back after the half-term week, during morning and afternoon peak times following the recent delays.
We have found that flows have improved following the recent opening of the B3284 North road and are working hard to open the Chiverton flyover as soon as we can, with the expectation that this should help reduce the congestion issues. Finally, thank you for your patience as we continue to construct the new carriageway between Chiverton and Carland Cross.
Should you require general updates on the A30, you may wish to visit our scheme website. If you would like to contact the scheme for more information, you can email A30ChivertontoCarlandCross@nationalhighways.co.uk or call 0300 123 5000.
To help us identify and make improvements to our responses, we would be very grateful if you could please take our feedback survey by clicking here.
