No road directional markings

Reported via mobile in the Faded / Hard to see (NH) category anonymously at 17:27, Tue 3 October 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5058115.

No directional markings on road leading to roundabout. You've replied to previous complaint but this needs attention urgently not when the A160 scheme becomes active. Without markings my insurers recommend me claiming from yourselves.

Updates

  • Thank you for your further email of 3 October 2023 about there being no directional markings on the A160 leading to the roundabout. We understand your concerns and appreciate the time you've taken to contact us about this. We're sorry to hear you were involved in an incident, we understand this would've been a stressful time for all involved.

Lane destination markings are for guidance only. We’re all bound by the rules of the Highway Code which sets rules to avoid conflict with other traffic. There are upcoming schemes for the A160, but these are yet to be fully developed and designed. Unfortunately, these schemes can’t be expedited but we can confirm the design team for the A160 are considering making changes to add lane markings to the scheme.

We will continue to monitor the area during our regular patrols and should the condition of the road deteriorate this will be fed back to the design team.
