Accident due to water logging on Motorway

Reported via desktop in the Flooding/drainage (NH) category anonymously at 09:22, Tue 3 October 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5055695.

Incident date: Saturday - around 7 pm. We were held up along with 100s of other cars for about half an hour. One of the cars also developed an issue and was pushed to the hard shoulder in the rain. Water logging on motorway caused accident requiring Police and Ambulance (hope no fatalities). There was a board put up about water on motorway, though it was very dark and raining, sign was barely visible. An illuminated sign asking everyone to slow down or forcing speed limit restrictions would have helped avoid the accident. People speed during rains thinking speed cameras do not work in rain.
