Potholes on carriageway
Reported via desktop in the Pothole (NH) category anonymously at 10:03, Fri 29 September 2023
Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5043496.
The issue is the slip road connection to the A63 Westbound from the North Ferriby/Melton (from Monks way east). As you descend from the elevated roundabout (above the Sandpiper) heading down onto the A63 wetbound, there is a severe area of roadsurface damage as the slip meets the dual carriageway. I was driving on Monday evening this last week and my steering wheel was pulled from my hand as I hit the damaged surface. I had to regrip my wheel. It was pretty bad.....I could easily have been sent off course or damage to my wheels or tyres. I do not think there is any damage but I was shocked at the force with which my vehicle was moved. This is an accident waiting to happen in my view. I felt the surface damage and did not see. I think it was generally damaged surface area over many feet rather then one single pothole. I have not been back to inspect as it is on a sliproad so not easy to get close to.

Still not repaired, why not? I wonder if this is the largest pothole in the UK now...missing surface tarmac area must be 15m long!
