The footpath is completely impassable, fencing down, brambles and nettles and trees overhanging the pathway. Having to walk in the road on an incline on a bend, extremely dangerous.
This has still not been attended to and the footpath is now totally impassable - its on an incline and blind bend and now having to walk in the road - its just not safe - please advise what action is being taken. Lancashire CC have advised it is Highways England responsibility - it was first reported to them in May 2023 and they told me they had referred on.

Although the land is registered to National Highways it’s the responsibility of Lancashire County Council to maintain the footpath. The plot of land was acquired as part of the Side Roads Order. Land acquired as part of a Side Roads Order is acquired to improve the local road network. The local road network is the responsibility of the Local Highway Authority. Under Section 14 of the Highways Act 1980, land acquired as part of the Side Roads Order transfers over to the local Highway Authority. National Highways holds title to the sub soil, however, maintenance and responsibility for the top two spits (spades depth) are vested to the LHA. The local authority is responsible for maintenance issues of this nature on this road. In this case Lancashire County Council Please contact them to resolve this issue. www.gov.uk/find-local-council
