Queues on slip road

Reported via desktop in the Structures (eg bridges, fencing, noise barriers) (NH) category anonymously at 13:46, Mon 18 September 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5006032.

The queue on the slip road is the cause of the the hour long delays on the southbound A34. If the outside lane were marked exclusively for through traffic only and the inside lane for traffic wanting to come off the dual carriageway to access Oxford or the A420, then most of the problem would be solved in an instant. Having sat nearly stationary in the driving rain for 40 minutes yesterday afternoon in the jam, the solution does not seem that difficult. Real time cameras can surely spot those who infringe the lane restrictions and action then taken. Time for some blue sky thinking to get the A34 fit for purpose?
