Temporary signs not removed

Reported via desktop in the Abandoned Materials (NH) category anonymously at 11:01, Mon 18 September 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5005055.

There were overnight roadworks on the eastbound carriageway in about late June or early July. Temporary signs were in place with a speed limit of 50. The roadworks were completed about two months ago but the signs are still in place. This is a safety hazard as unfamiliar drivers break heavily whilst many regular users no longer slow down. Could the signs be removed please?

Updates

  • Thank you for your email of 18 September 2023 about the 50mph speed limit signs on the M62. We understand your concerns and appreciate you taking the time to contact us about the issue.

We've checked with our Service Delivery team and can confirm the signs are still on site because the work is still ongoing at this location. We're undertaking improvements to the drainage system due to the risk of flooding. Completion of the work should be mid-November, weather dependent and the signs will be in use until then.

Thank you again for contacting us. If there is anything we can help you with, please email or telephone our Contact Centre. They’re available 24 hours a day by phone: 0300 123 5000 or by email info@nationalhighways.co.uk Alternatively, please visit the National Highways website at nationalhighways.co.uk.

    Kind Regards

    Gemma
