Lettering gone

Reported via mobile in the Damage to Sign (NH) category anonymously at 22:39, Tue 12 September 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4988191.

The lettering on this sign is almost completely faded and even though I know about it I still get caught in two minds which lane to be in. I see other people caught out by it and switching lanes late. It is very dangerous and has been like it for maybe years(?). I’m amazed you have let an important motorway sign deteriorate to a state where only the outline of letters that are no longer there like shadows are left for motorists traveling at considerable speed to read. Extremely dangerous and needs to be replaced asap before someone is hurt.
