Overgrown footpath

The footpath alongside this busy 60mph road is overgrown to the point that it forces pedestrians into the carriageway. This is the entire stretch between Rye and the Sea Road turn at Winchelsea. There will be a fatality if not attended to urgently.

We appreciate you taking the time to notify us about the overgrown vegetation on the footpath at this location, and we’re sorry that on this occasion the time frames to cut back the vegetation is taking longer than we would’ve liked. This location is on our list to be tackled during our upcoming cyclic maintenance. We’re currently behind with our vegetation maintenance work in the area and apologise for any inconvenience or frustration this may cause you and the community. Our inspector is in the process of prioritising areas that require additional urgent remedial work whilst our maintenance teams look to catch up with the vegetation maintenance works within the wider area. We will continue to monitor the situation and hope to resolve these issues soon.
