  • We would like to update you further about the flooding on the A1 you reported in September 2023.

A survey has been completed and the drainage at this location is in bad condition or is unable to be located. A scheme is currently in the design process to be delivered in 2025 - 2026. In the meantime, flood warning signs will be placed to warn road users and we are looking to get the gully sumps cleared to reduce the amount of standing water.

Thank you again for contacting us. If there is anything we can help you with, please email or telephone our Contact Centre. They’re available 24 hours a day by phone: 0300 123 5000 or by email info@nationalhighways.co.uk Alternatively, please visit the National Highways website at nationalhighways.co.uk.
