Traffic Lights Sequence Problem

Reported via desktop in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 16:51, Fri 8 September 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4973652.

Please change the light sequence back to as it was before week commencing 4th September.

The sequence is now causing 30 minute delays both side of the M5.

If the intention was to prioritize the traffic coming off the M5 then this has had the opposite effect as this has no where to go when the vehicles are parked stationary trying to travel west bound on the B4509.

The queue was tailing back down the southbound exit slip road onto the M5 this morning.

  • Thank you for making your report. We've asked our technical team to attend this location and assess the issue. If any work is needed, they'll arrange for this to happen. Should no immediate work be required we'll continue to monitor this during our regular inspections.

Although we always aim to complete repairs as quickly as possible, timescales do vary as we try to minimise disruption to customers by combining activities into single closures and always ensuring the safety of our people.
