Traffic sequence causing 30+ minutes tailbacks

Reported via mobile in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 13:54, Fri 8 September 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4972928.

It would appear that the sequence has been changed so that now if you are travelling along the B4509 over junction 14 of the M5 in either direction, the sequence now only allows 2-3 cars at a time on green, this is creating long traffic queues and wait times in excess of 30 minutes during peak time and 20 minutes in non peak times. It is also worth knowing that the lights that take precedence are the lights when you are coming off of the M5 - and there are no more than 2 or 3 cars waiting to come off the M5 at any time.

Can the sequence be altered to allow more time for drivers on the B4509 to get through these lights? This would ease congestion hugely and stop the huge delays that cause people problems.

For many years there were no lights here with no issue, and till recently the lights were off in peak times (because the lights did not help traffic) why they were changed I do not know but this needs addressing as it is causing many unnecessary delays
