Subway under bridge is in poor condition

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4936242.

Tiles have fallen off/been removed, lighting is is poor condition and graffiti is on the walls.

  • There are only 3 of the 18 lights in the subway working. It is very dark and for anyone with limited eyesight, it is dangerous. This is combined with the frequent flooding of the underpass. This subway is the main active travel route to the two schools. The lights have not ben working for a very long time. Please let me know if National Highways is responsible.

  • Thank you for your report.

    Our inspector has reviewed the underpass and has reported the lack of lighting and some drainage concerns onto our relevant teams for further investigation.

    Offensive graffiti is removed within 24 hours, non offensive graffiti as seen at this location is removed via routine cyclic maintenance.

    Our route sponsor team has been made aware of the general poor condition, however we works with limited funds and have to prioritise where they can best be spent.
