Vegetation growing into carriageway

The whole section of this road from the Gun Inn lights to Crowden is affected by Deborah and vegetation growing in the edge of the carriageway. This now includes trees growing in the edge of the road This is affecting both the width of the carriageway and the drainage along this whole section of what at the moment the main non motorway trans Pennines route.

  • Thank you for your email of 27 August about vegetation and debris on the A628 from Gun Inn lights to Crowden. We understand your concerns and appreciate you taking the time to contact us about the issue.

    Our inspectors have visited the location and have confirmed the issue is related to the sweeping of the carriageway and footpaths which is the responsibility of the local council. In this it case would be Derbyshire County Council. They can be contacted via https://my.derbyshire.gov.uk/ en.
