Sycamore Trees Growing on Steep Bank

Reported via mobile in the Overgrown or obscuring view (NH) category anonymously at 10:25, Mon 21 August 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4911576.

I reported that the trees opposite our house are growing out of control besides the road in June and I checked the website for an update and see the issue for some reason has been closed. Please can you update me on why this is?

These sycamore trees are essentially weeds which grow to 35m tall and are growing on an unstable, steep bank besides the A36. Not only do they become a massive nuisance to the traffic, (as others have reported, lorries have to move into the centre of the road to avoid the trees as they grow so quickly) I am also concerned that if they grow too tall they could easily fall onto our property. Please can they be controlled soon whilst it is still manageable so the problem doesn’t worsen.
