Unmaintained ditch causing flooding

Reported via desktop in the Flooding/drainage (NH) category anonymously at 16:03, Tue 15 August 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4894784.

Hello,

I am contacting you from Hampshire County Council's Countryside access team. The drainage ditches and soak aways installed around the the bridge at this location have not been maintained. This is cause flooding under the bridge which is also the permissive section Wayfarers promoted route.

Keeping this permissive section of the is very important as it allows users (walkers, cyclists and horse riders) to avoid crossing directly over the A34 at this point. Keeping this route in good condition is essential to ensure that people do not try to take the much shorter route across the A34.

I believe the landowner is also having issues with the fields beside the A34 becoming water logged.

Please could you contact me to discuss.
