Dead cat on verge

There is a deceased cat on the south Bound carriageway of the A38, just after the lay-by prior to the chudleigh/chudleigh Knighton/finlake exit slip. Black cat, unable to see any markings or othe distinguishing features.

    Our inspection team have been to site and haven't found the deceased cat prior to the Chudleigh exit slip road on the A38.

    For your information, we're responsible for the removal of deceased animals on motorways. We can move deceased animals to the verge on trunk roads. We should've advised you at the time that the removal of dead animals from the side of trunk roads is the responsibility of the local authority. In this instance it would fall under the responsibility of Devon County Council.
