M53 Southbound - Excessive Standing Water

Reported via desktop in the Flooding/drainage (NH) category anonymously at 11:01, Sat 5 August 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4860944.

Water builds in this location heading southbound on the M53 when it rains, this is excessive compared to other parts of the carriageway and I have seen many near misses. This is just before the slip road from the M56 joins the M53 heading towards Chester. The water is likely to cause aquaplaning, harsh braking and obscured vision and splashes on to the northbound carriageway also. Drainage must be blocked or lacking to cause this as it stands out in this place compared to the rest of the carriageway in the rain and happens every time there is any prolonged period of rain.
