Uneven surface - lots of debris in gutters and verges
Reported via desktop in the Road surface (NH) category anonymously at 12:59, Tue 1 August 2023
Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4847345.
The nearside carriage way is very uneven and poorly maintained/repaired on the westbound carriageway A180 for a length of 2/3 miles as you are driving towards Barnetby Top from Grimsby direction.
A lot of vehicles (cars/HGVs) do not use the inside lane as it is in such poor condition - not good enough to just put uneven surface signage, this is admitting the problem but doing very little about it.
This must be one of the worst maintained roads in the UK. Along the carriageway on both sides of the A180 there is a always a substantial amount of debris in the verges and gutters such as old roadwork signage, discarded HGV tyres etc, the lay-bys are usually strewn with litter and bins overflowing.
Due to the amount of HGVs that use this road it should be maintained to a much higher standard, come on National Highways you can do better, I am sure you road safety reports for this road reflect the above comments...
