Water coming from motorway banking even in dry weather

Reported via desktop in the Flooding/drainage (NH) category anonymously at 16:25, Fri 28 July 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4836275.

Water is coming from the banking on the eastern side of the motorway and flowing under the foot/bike tunnel and causing flooding at the other side. It's always there even in very dry weather and gets very bad in winter. Reported to Wakefield council who told me it was coming from National Highways land. This has been a problem for many months if not years

  • We're continuing to work with Wakefield Council to ascertain the source of the flooding and to rectify. We can confirm that water is likely entering the subway from more than one source. You are correct in saying this has been an issue for sometime and the solution will likely to be complicated and take some time to resolve.
