Dear National Highways, the road surface is so loud its kind of unfair how you resurface the Northbound A194M And Never done the Southbound A194M SO resurface the WHOLE A194M Southbound from white mare pool roundabout to J65 Birtley it would be nice to redo the whole road surface because I HATE going on this road and this Nosiey road surface its terrible its worser than the A19 Concrete!! so please national highways do something about this!

We have passed your suggestion to the relevant team who will investigate. If works are required, they will arrange this. Should no immediate work be required we will continue to monitor this during our regular inspections.
We are currently engaged in the delivery of the second Road Investment Strategy (2020-2025) with a commitment to deliver significant investment to improve the Strategic Road Network in the north-east. We have recently completed capacity enhancements between A1 Scotswood and North Brunton and we are currently delivering similar capacity enhancements between A1 Birtley and Coal House. We are also continuing to develop and deliver a comprehensive programme of network renewals and upgrades.
