Your trees in my land

Reported via mobile in the Overgrown or obscuring view (NH) category anonymously at 15:22, Sun 23 July 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4809359.

Your trees are now hanging over my fence. I've reported this now several times. Do I arrange to chop them myself and send you the invoice.

  • Thank you for your email of 23 July 2023 about the overhanging vegetation at your property. We understand your frustration and appreciate you taking the time to contact us about this.

We can confirm we're in the process of arranging a visit to the location to determine the work required so we can organise exactly what we need. The delay has been due to work to overhanging branches not being programmed in due to bird nesting season. This is coming to an end in July/Aug. The work should be completed within the next 3 months and we will update you further once we have site visits confirmed.

Thank you again for contacting us. If there is anything we can help you with, please email or telephone our Contact Centre. They’re available 24 hours a day by phone: 0300 123 5000 or by email info@nationalhighways.co.uk Alternatively, please visit the National Highways website at nationalhighways.co.uk.

    Kind Regards

    Gemma

  • Can you please let me know whether you are responsible for the trees and ground between Howard Crescent Durkar and the M1. Lots of trees need pruning back as they are overlapping land and garages. Plus all the ground needs strimming as vegetation is growing through into peoples gardens. Thank you

  • Thank you for making your report. We have asked our inspection team to attend this location and assess the issue.

If any work is needed, they will arrange for this to happen. Should no immediate work be required we will continue to monitor this during our regular inspections.

Although we always aim to complete work as quickly as possible, timescales do vary as we try to minimise disruption to customers by combining activities ensuring the safety of our people.

    Kind regards National Highways

  • Regarding the trees and undergrowth between the 1st cul de sac on Howard Crescent, someone did come and start cutting back on the corner at the back of number 14, but unfortunately that was a few weeks ago and nothing further has been done. Can you please confirm you will be coming back to complete the job? Thank you
