White road markings

Reported via mobile in the Faded / Hard to see (NH) category anonymously at 13:42, Thu 20 July 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4808084.

The lane markings between junctions 5 and 8 on M27 are very hard to see on light tarmac, especially when sun shining. It's impossible to see when the motorway is busy especially when cars are changing lanes. There are a few times when I have had to slow below safe levels in outside lanes as afraid I cannot see when moving back across. These need to be re painted as soon as possible before there is a fatal collision. It's been like this for a few months now.

Updates

  • Thank you for your report concerning worn road markings on the M27.

Firstly, we would like to apologise for any confusion whilst driving on the M27 due to the lane markings being worn.

We are planning an overlay of the road surface which will improve visibility and ride comfort which is being accelerated as fast as it can. Currently we don’t have a time frame for when this scheme will take place.

    Kind regards
