A585 Greenhalgh with Thisleton

Reported via mobile in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 13:02, Fri 14 July 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4786249.

On the main junction the traffic lights have all been out for some time

Please can these be switched back on as I think will cause a traffic accident if not resolved

Updates

  • Thank you for making your report. These traffic signals had to be isolated and switched off due an electrical safety issue. The existing circuits became overloaded, making the current installation electrically unsafe. This could be due to the signals being upgraded from part-time to full-time following an improvement scheme in 2019.

There’s no quick fix to resolve the fault as we need to undertake a full power design assessment. This will determine what electrically compliant interim fixes are required to make the current installation electrically safe. Due to extensive surveys being required, it’s likely to take a number of weeks before a solution is determined. The scale and programme of the works is dependent on our findings. We’re sorry we don’t have a speedy resolution for the traffic signal fault.

    Kind regards National Highways
