Uneven surface
Reported via desktop in the Road surface (NH) category anonymously at 12:26, Mon 10 July 2023
Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4769313.
Successive carriageway repairs linked to utility works have left a surface which dips and bumps, causing a speed-hump style effect near to the kerb. Lorries passing over this point (which they do a lot!) make an unbearable noise and cause nearby houses to shake as the lorries' trailers and loads are jolted around.
The latest repairs were carried out earlier this year and it is in the last couple of weeks that the issue has become apparent, due I should imagine to some movement in the road surface.

I was emailed to say that the site had been visited, however it became clear that it had not. Instead I was told that the photographs did not allow the location to be identified. I provided addition photographs, however It is not clear when or how the issue will be addressed. The problem area is immediately outside No. 19 Monkton Road.

This problem is unchanged and our peace continues to be shattered with each HGV, tractor and trailer passing our home and crashing over the uneven surface.
Please, please could you do something about it - ask South West Water or whoever else may be responsible to re-do the road surface repair and provide a flat road surface that doesn't cause this unbearable noise.
