  • Thank you for your email of 9 July 2023 about overgrown vegetation and litter on the entry to the slip road north and south bound junction 31 Aston. We appreciate you taking the time to contact us about the issue.

We can confirm our Inspectors have visited the location and have reported the vegetation on the footpath/roundabout would be the responsibility of Rotherham Local Council. We'll contact them to make them aware of the issue but they can be found on transport.

We can confirm the only abandoned debris that was seen was a cone marking some barrier damage on the overbridge. The visible litter will be dealt with on our next cyclic visit to the area.

Thank you again for contacting us. If there is anything we can help you with, please email or telephone our Contact Centre. They’re available 24 hours a day by phone: 0300 123 5000 or by email Alternatively, please visit the National Highways website at

    Kind Regards
