Very Large Electronic Advertising Hoarding too bright / distracting

Reported via mobile in the Electronic Sign (NH) category anonymously at 12:44, Fri 7 July 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4760687.

There is a very large electronic advertising hoarding beside the M32 as you approach the turn off for J3. It is so bright it is distracting especially when it suddenly changes from a lower light image to a brighter one and just when you are changing lanes. Concerned it could cause an accident.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways concerning the electronic sign on the M32.

We recommended conditions to Bristol City Council to control glare intensity and transition time. As the planning authority it is for them to consider.

A review of the locality since the erecting of the signs confirms accidents have actually decreased.

If you require any further information please contact our Customer Contact Centre on 0300 123 5000 or info@nationalhighways.co.uk
