Large red deer carcass on the verge

Reported via mobile in the Causing an obstruction (NH) category anonymously at 17:00, Tue 4 July 2023

FixMyStreet ref: 4749303.

This is on the northbound A11 about quarter mile short of ghe Attleborough roundabout. 40-50kg weight, so a 2-person job. Unlike dead munties this can’t just stay there and be allowed to rot down … dead Bambi is too upsetting for the majority of the public.

Updates

  • Thank you for informing our Customer Contact Centre about Large dead deer carcass on the A11 at Hargham. Thank you for taking the time to bring this matter to our attention.

I appreciate how distressing it can be for our customers to see animal remains lying by the side of the road. We routinely remove such remains when they are found in the live carriageway and always endeavour to repatriate pets if their owners can be identified through microchip implant technology.

I have passed your report on to the route inspector for further investigation.

    Kind regards

    National Highways
